Adams Wood has a B.A. in
Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. In college,
he was introduced to activism through work with Empty The Shelters and
the Kensington Welfare Right Union.
A founding member of Whispered Media, Adams co-produced two organizing
videos, Road Use Restricted, about a 41-day road blockade in protest
of logging on national forests, and Shut 'em Down. He was also lead
editor on Whispered Media's contributions to Showdown
in Seattle, a daily thirty minute production from the 1999 WTO protests
in Seattle. He has played a major role in the creation of three websites,
videoactivism.org, whisperedmedia.org
and boomthemovie.org. Adams
also teaches documentary video to adults and youth. As of spring of
2002, Adams has left Whispered Media and relocated to Black Mountain,
North Carolina, where his new media project is Mountain
Eye Media.
